Who’s More Pro-Science, Republicans or Democrats? – Neil deGrasse Tyson

About Troy Loy

I seek to learn through this site and others how to better my ability as a person and my skill at using my reason and understanding to best effect. I do fractal artwork as a hobby, and I'm working to develop it to professional levels, though I've a bit to go till I reach that degree of skill! This is a crazy world we're in, but maybe I can do a little, if only that, to make it a bit more sane than it otherwise would be.

  1. Chris Mooney’s polemic “The Republican War on Science” had me convinced the GOP were evil monsters … Now I’m not so sure …

    • I think that Repubs and Dems tend to focus on favoring different areas of science, with maybe a little disregard for it on both sides, but for the GOP it seems to all depend on the bottom line.

I think it’s a problem when those in either party individually engage their money smarts or political ideologies in unethical ways, which happens a lot in corrupt administrations and results in the scandals that get trumpeted all over the media.

I think some Republicans as individuals do have an definite antiscience agenda, but get reined in sometimes by their more savvy colleagues. Not always though, unfortunately. I no longer think that’s unique to them, though.

It’s hard for today’s governments to effectively keep secrets on their naughtiness.
