Fractals of the Week: The Wing’s the Thing for a Fractal Fling
Here are a few images that I came up with over the past week, all of them Julia sets, some from a Mandelbrot set, and others from Newton or Halley method images, but all having a common theme: the recurrence of a winglike, feathery structure and an odd luminescence about them, or metallic gleam reflecting strange light sources like alien suns. I’ve sought to vary the ways they show these traits, and excluded images that differ only in their color maps. These images are as yet untitled. Suggestions are welcome!

can you guess which one i think looks the most like an elektron orbitalis? and there’s another that is very meta-thronus…or as i’d translate: the throne beyond. now you see why my mother would never let me name any of the cats!
Actually those are quite cool, would be awesome names for cats, but I would most intuitively match the former title to the last image, and the latter one to the second image.
thank you! i shall inform my mother immediately. ;D but seriously i really do love your fractals. they fit in so perfectly with my spiritual practices because they come the closest to showing what i see as creative power and the manifestation of matter at the subatomic level…if that makes any sense. thank you so much for sharing your artwork. images like yours keep us connected to the cosmos and that’s a rare gift.
