Site Guidelines & Commenting

I believe in freedom of speech, but I also believe in responsibility in commenting behavior, and in avoiding unnecessary legal entanglements resulting from abusive, illegal, obscene, or libelous commentary.

While you are free to criticize others in the comments threads of this site, keep the language acceptable and the content legal and civil. Links to pseudoscience websites are unacceptable except in the proper context of a discussion thread and may be redacted.

Comments linking to pornography and sites of an illegal nature or containing threats of physical harm or verbal abuse to others will be deleted and the commenter permanently banned from posting on this site.

While I strive for presenting material on this site in as truthful a manner as possible, it is impossible for me to absolutely guarantee the complete factual accuracy of the material and at least some of it may be found to be in error. If this is the case, and you can point out to me the error and a credible source that shows it, I shall happily correct the inaccuracy and give you credit for pointing it to me out in a blog post mentioning you.

I have a low tolerance for asshattery, so I reserve the right to use any comment posted on this site in a manner that may be comedic, illustrative, exemplary of some variety of silliness, informative, or otherwise entertaining and enlightening to other readers on this site.
