Well, it’s the start of a new week, and a good one! I’ve just seen the season finale of Doctor Who, season 9, and just loved the references in it to the classic series, even a new look into the First Doctor’s TARDIS, while seeing the final appearance of Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, Companion of Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor.

Capaldi outdid himself in this episode, and as with any good season’s end episode, there were loose ends to tie up, and tied up they were. I’m wondering, though, who will be the Doctor’s Companion next season. It’s good that this episode saw the return of the sonic screwdriver, a new model that looks very much in the style of the TARDIS itself.

Here’s hoping that Capaldi stays on as Twelve for at least two more seasons, and with that hope in mind, I’m left, as a terrible, horrible film critic, with anticipation of the series next Christmas special with Alex Kingston as River Song.

So, later, I’ll switch my critical faculties on, find plot holes in the episode, and other such curmudgeonly things while I ready myself for study tonight. There are books to read, and Bangla to practice before bed this morning. I arch my skeptical eyebrows at the thought.
