Fractal of the Week | Egads! Phractal Phearsomosity

G’day. I present another wallpaper from my ongoing project of adapting new parameter files to see better use in their continued evolution, the selective pressures mostly involving a negative correlation between the continued viability of a preset and the time it takes to outlive its productive fitness in producing novel images that I dislike less than those before.

With a few false starts this week, as I must restart the image originally planned for this installment from scratch, I’ve generated the one below. That setback is actually a huge benny in disguise, as I can now not only create it almost from scratch, but I’ll use the Monte Carlo option (from here on, MC) to make said image, now projected as next week’s piece, even clearer and crisper-looking than the original version. Use of MB3D’s MC option takes a long time to render a piece, but the result is in my prior experience with it much better.

This piece is 1600 x 1200 pixels large, and it is my least-disliked of the successful images produced this week. Click to macronormify.

Fractals of the Week | Frax-ional Pro-portions

This week’s images are via Frax Pro, being various zoom results of the Mandelbrot set that involved a bit of extra play with motion, texture, and lighting effects, with strange or decidedly odd results. Things are moving along with these, and the app, for iOS, has seen a lot of use since I got my tentacles one it. Those I’ve generated this evening on my ‘Pod will be uploaded to my Tumblr queue, though some will see their first publishing here. I’m looking forward to that, next week, when I’ll be posting an installment of wallpapers, likely from differing apps.

Fractals of the Week | 2015.07.16

G’day, and may your week be glorious. This time, I’ve more uploads via deviantART, as I’m waiting for Google’s Deep Dream AI to process one of my fractals submitted days ago. I’ll be posting both before and after pics for the image, but here are some strange ones, available as free file downloads or as prints.

I’m playing with Mandelbulber v.1.16 (bottom image) and Mandelbulb 3D (two top images), as I’m learning new tricks to play with these. I’m also working on new Frax Pro images, playing more with lighting effects, and I’ll be showing those this coming week.
